With reference to your application for colonial employment, the

Crown Agents give particulars overleaf relating to a vacancy for which

they are prepared to consider you.

If you wish to be considered for this post, you should fill up

the enclosed form and return it to the Crown Agents within seven days.

Particulars of your service (if any) with H.M. Forces, including number,

rank, unit, &c., should be included, and, if you held a commission, the

names and addresses of two senior officers under whom you served

should also be furnished.

Selected candidates will be required to pass a strict medical

examination, and be vaccinated and receive dental treatment if necessary.

If during the last seven years you have been in business of any description on your own account, you should forward the name and address

of a responsible person who can verify this fact.

Attempts to influence the Crown Agents' selection through Members

of Parliament or other persons, unless they are in a position from personal

knowledge to testify as to character or qualifications, will be regarded as indicat-

ing that the applicant himself does not consider his character and qualifications

as sufficiently good to justify his appointment on his own merits, and may

prejudice hits chances of success.
